Wireless Mesh Node VMAe

The VMAe provides secure, highly resilient, real time communications to on-street applications such as Traffic Light Controllers, CCTV, and other municipal services. Highly scalable, from small local deployments, to city and county-wide networks The VMAe is the key component in the Mesh4G system, controlling the Intelligent Antennas and provides routing of Layer 2 and Layer 3 devices across the network. The VMAe supports DSDS (Dual Simultaneous Data Streams) and dynamic route finding. On initialisation, the unit provides a simple communication bridge for any Ethernet device. Configuration from the Central Mesh Controller gives it channel plans, and alternative routes for the mesh on a fault being detected. DSDS connects devices by sending data through two different routes for each packet.

The Central Mesh Controller then throws away all duplicates. DSDS also allows the unit to operate in a fast or slow switch scenario. Slow switch is ideal for CCTV connections minimising jitter.

The VMAe comes in two types, a standard 2 port version and a 4 port version (VMAeS).
