In 2005 we were contacted by Faber Maunsell to help find a way to significantly reduce Suffolk County Council's (SCC) capital and revenue costs for their traffic light network in Lowestoft.

As well as the traffic light network, SCC was also looking for a wireless solution for the transmission of CCTV images.

As Mesh4G™ is a multi-layered technology, we were able to provide a solution for the traffic lights (using 2.4GHz technology) and for the CCTV, using a 5GHz wireless solution, with the ability to transmit large amounts of data over large distances. This will reduce significant costs in fibre backhaul connections.

The initial installations have gone well, both for the on-street application, and the CCTV application. We are currently rolling out over 100 sites across Lowestoft, and are looking to expand to other parts of Suffolk.
